About Appletex

Welcome to Appletex, the leading manufacturer of innovative, high-quality, and bespoke stockinette products.

Founded by Alan Appleton in 1975, Appletex has grown from a small knitting plant to a modern manufacturing facility using high-production machines. Appletex serves diverse clients across the UK and distributes into 25 markets worldwide, guaranteeing high-quality, fast turnaround times and exceptional service.

Our Journey

Appletex began in 1975 with Alan Appleton’s four second-hand knitting machines in a small mill.

His son Ian and daughter Julie later joined, further strengthening the family’s legacy and capabilities. From these humble beginnings, we’ve grown into an industry leader, driven by our dedication to crafting the highest-quality stockinettes. Appletex continues to champion innovation and excellence, ensuring that greatness is knitted into every stockinette we produce.
