Over 40 years experience in the production and manufacture of quality stockinette products.
In 1973 Alan Appleton bought a small Knitting plant when the existing owner wanted to retire. At that time there were four old knitting machines, run by one employee operating in a two storey mill.
Appletex International Ltd is now in its second generation. In 1985 Mr Alan Appleton’s son Ian joined the business and in 2003 Alan’s daughter Julie also joined the company.
The family now have over 40 year’s experience in the manufacturing and production of stockinette for a variety of end uses. Our products are used in the Automotive, Engineering, Marine and packaging industry as well as the Upholstery and Meat trade.
Over the years the old knitting machines have been scrapped and we now operate over 80 modern high production machines, of various diameters, allowing us to efficiently produce the wide range of stockinette products that we offer.
Our growth now sees us manufacturing and supplying stockinette products to customers all around the UK, across Europe and Internationally.
As of the 1st October 2013 Appletex International Ltd aquired ownership of HEGRI International BV.
For a few years Hegri continued to operate from their premises in The Netherlands. Unfortunately due to illness Mr Fred Hetterscheid has now retired and the branch was closed. All manufacture, production and despatch is now carried out from our UK Head office near Manchester.
We offer stockinette for covering foam and mattresses in many different forms, either by hand or by Machine, in rolls, Sewn bags, Rollinets and pre stretched Bundles. We only use the best raw materials from our suppliers.
Our products are processed and packed on site with many items held in stock. This gives a quick turnaround of customer orders. Every customer is extremely important to us and we take pride in our products and the service we offer to you.
We are also ideally situated close to a main motorway link to enable easy transportation of our products.
